Program Manager, Credit Services

Field is seeking to hire an experienced Credit Program Manager who will work directly with the leadership team and credit committee of one of the fastest growing healthtech companies in Africa. The role will help define, implement, and support credit and related financial services for Field’s health sector clients across Africa. The Credit Program Manager will work closely with heads of all departments and other analysts, but report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

Program Development.

• Work across finance, product, and growth teams to support development of Field’s suite of credit functions.

  • Credit building programs for health-sector SMEs
  • Credit scoring strategies and tools
  • Credit management systems rules

Implementation.

• Be hands on with credit program operations and lead performance management.

  • Credit performance monitoring
  • Analysis and recommendations to the credit committee
  • Continuous improvement and follow-up management

Requirements

• Based in one of Field’s hub cities: Abuja or Lagos, Nigeria; Nairobi, Kenya; or Berlin, Germany

  • WFH is possible
  • In-person sessions with team and in the field required from time to time

• Minimum five years professional experience in finance, banking, or related field with a minimum three years working in credit/collateral and/or loan origination.

  • Preference for Nigeria and Kenya market experience specifically
  • Health-sector or retail finance experience encouraged

• Bachelors in relevant field, including but not limited to finance, business, economics, accounting

  • Preference for MBA or advanced degree or professional certification in finance, accounting, or related field.

• Strong quantitative reasoning abilities

  • Fluency in Excel/Sheets required
  • Prior experience building, using, and/or maintaining business intelligence systems required
  • Preference for SQL knowhow
  • Portfolio of work samples will be requested

• Generally preferred experiences and qualities

  • Meaningful experience in and passion for healthcare and emerging markets
  • Experience working in diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Systems thinker with a wonky love of detail (especially when it comes to credit and access to finance) and excited about zooming in and zooming out conceptually to deliver real insight
