Distribution Centre Associate (Inbound)

Key Responsibilities

-Inbound Receiving & Coordination: Oversee the arrival and offloading of all incoming items, including supplier deliveries and customer returns. Prepare warehouse receiving areas and verify shipment details against physical documentation such as waybills and invoices.

  • Procurement & Supplier Liaison: Liaise closely with the procurement team to verify physical supplier information, ensuring all received products align with Purchase Orders (POs) and flagging any discrepancies in quantity or type.
  • WMS (Shipsy) Data Management: Utilize the Shipsy WMS Web UI to create Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), accurately recording precise batch-level information and expiry dates for every product inbounded.
  • Putaway Strategy & Execution: Directly responsible for the putaway process using Shipsy mobile devices to scan SKU codes, EAN numbers, or batch keys. Organize stock into designated storage areas based on system-recommended strategies while exercising discretion for manual location overrides when necessary.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure products meet a minimum shelf-life requirement (typically 15 months) and adhere to Good Distribution Practices (GDP). Manage temperature-sensitive "cold items" by ensuring immediate storage in refrigerated areas.
  • Returns & Inventory Recording: Maintain comprehensive documentation of returns for each supplier, including cost and total value, while ensuring real-time inventory updates within the system.
  • Meeting & Documentation: Generate reports highlighting received quantities and quality-related issues. Provide timely updates on the sc_inbound Slack channel regarding the completion of the inbound process for specific suppliers.
  • Process & Workflow Improvement: Identify operational challenges within the receiving area and recommend initiatives to optimize loading patterns and dispatch/inbound workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, specifically in inbound logistics and receiving.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with specific experience in Shipsy being a distinct advantage.
  • Strong technical skills in data entry and recording batch-level SKU information with a target accuracy rate of >99.5%.
  • Experience operating mobile scanning interfaces for inventory management and putaway execution.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with procurement, internal warehouse teams, and external suppliers.
  • High attention to detail regarding expiry dates, quality control standards, and compliance with pharmaceutical storage guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to ensure all products are inbounded within 24 hours of delivery.
